Kingdom Men Rising
Dr. Tony Evans is world renowned speaker, syndicated radio host, and founder of the non-profit organization “The Urban Alternative”. Dr. Evans has a passion for educating men on nuanced, healthy masculinity. After partnering with Lifeway Films they decided to produce a theatrical documentary about this very subject called Kingdom Men Rising.
“We approached it with the end goal in mind: garnering an audience, turning a profit, and producing a film of exceptional quality.”
In order to gain the attention of a potential audience we travelled the country to interview some of the most influential men and women in America today. These contributors included Superbowl winning coach Tony Dungy, 16 time Grammy Award winning artist Kirk Franklin, and NFL Executive VP of Football Operations Troy Vincent.
“The film exceeded box office expectations and received rave reviews, but most importantly the film impacted numerous lives with an important message.”
These men and many more told their unique stories surrounding masculinity and what it truly means. Hours upon hours of footage was cut down to a laser focused 90 minute film. We had an original score composed and everything was formatted flawlessly for the big screen. The film was shaping up well, and we had a hunch that Kingdom Men Rising would resonate with audiences, but the film needed a final touch. Hearing stories from men like Tony Dungy was incredible, but we believe to truly impact an audience you can’t just tell, you have to show.
The missing piece to the film was archival NFL footage that the organization rarely lets independent production companies use. We needed this footage, and our producers didn’t relent until we had the footage, and it would fit within our budget. The footage is gorgeous, and when seen in the final film it takes everything up a notch.
With the final piece of the puzzle in place, and the film fully approved, Kingdom Men Rising enjoyed a national theatrical release at over 800 theaters. The film exceeded box office expectations and received rave reviews, but most importantly the film impacted numerous lives with an important message.
